B1K 5114
Second class carriage in open saloon
Passenger coach B1K 5114 is a second class seating coach of the 1960s type. The car type was manufactured between 1960 and 1968 by Kalmar Verkstad for Statens Järnvägar (SJ). These coaches, originally littera Bo1 before the 1970 littera reform, were part of SJ's modernisation of the passenger coach fleet during this period and are a standard 2-class coach with an open plan/lounge.
Design and use
B1K coaches are second-class seating coaches with a saloon-based interior. Between 1985 and 1989, these coaches underwent modernisation, including refurbishment of the interior, installation of loudspeakers and built-in tail signals. These improvements raised standards and extended the life of the carriages.
History
B1K 5114 was originally delivered to SJ and used in both domestic and international traffic, especially adapted for traffic to Denmark. After SJ began to discontinue the sixties wagons in 2004, the wagon ended up with us and is used in the traffic train from the 60s.
