Locomotives and carriages
A unique collection of railway history
Nässjö Railway Museum is the proud owner of an impressive collection of historic rail vehicles, many of which are entirely unique and have a rich history. Many of these vehicles are not simply exhibition pieces – they are regularly used to transport passengers, giving visitors the opportunity to experience them up close. Here you can both see the vehicles in action and ride along yourself, which creates an unbeatable sensation of being transported back in time.
Each vehicle has its own story to tell; from iconic steam locomotives and early diesel locomotives, to classic passenger carriages and other specialised vehicles. A living piece of cultural heritage that we are preserving and looking after for future generations. Here you can read more about each vehicle, its background and perhaps something about the role it has played in the history of Swedish railways.
The vehicle section is being reworked and is expected to be finalised by the end of January.
